Governance
BPD is an independent non-profit organisation (NGO), governed by a multi-stakeholder Board of thirteen Directors from across the public, private and civil society sectors. The organisation is currently run by a small team of three full-time and two part-time staff and is hosted by WaterAid in London.
BPD receives its funding from governments, multilateral agencies and grants from member organisations and is Company Limited by Guarantee and a registered UK Charity.
DFID Review of BPD
In 2006, DFID commissioned an external organisational review of BPD. Its findings were overwhelmingly positive, suggesting that BPD is clearly “doing the right things” and “doing them well”. Read the review (124 KB PDF file.)
Business Plan 2007-12
Based on the external review and discussions at the Board level, BPD has developed a 5-year business plan that maps out how it will meet demand, while maintaining the intimate and progressive spirit of the organisation. BPD AGM 2009
On 16th February 2009, BPD held its Annual General Meeting in Washington D.C. The meeting included a presentation on BPD's current work and staff facilitated a debate on small-scale water and sanitation entrepreneurs. Read the AGM minutes
